PPC achieves its goal for paperboard packaging recyclable logo licenses.
More carton manufacturers are flaunting a recyclable logo as of 2012, and brands are reaping the benefits as savvy consumers look for eco-friendly packaging symbols. The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) says it has achieved its goal of issuing 35 licenses to converters in 2011 for using the “Paperboard Packaging Recyclable” logo. Of the 35 licensees, 27 are PPC members. “We’re delighted that we achieved our goal,” said Ben Markens, PPC president. “The recyclable logo is one of the few ways a brand owner can alert consumers to the recyclable nature of paperboard packaging so it is vital that brand owners begin printing it on their cartons.” PPC has made available the registered trademark logo to all packaging companies free of charge.
